Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Brentwood Library is a group of citizens that promote our community library.

The Friends Group supports the library in many ways :
- Direct contributions to the library’s operating budget.
- Funding library programs.
- Operating the library book sale.
- Purchasing materials, supplies, and library equipment.
Friends Book Sale
Open Saturdays – 10 am – 2 pm.
In addition, book sale room opened by patron request during regular library hours.
Book donations are appreciated.
Donations can be dropped off anytime the library is open – please enter through the front doors. Please ask if you need assistance. Because of space limitations, we limit 2 boxes per month per household.
Larger collections: please email Dennis Luther: lutherd@brentwoodpubliclibrary.org or call 412.882.5694 to make drop off arrangements or for a house call.
What we are pleased to accept:
In good condition:
- Hardback and paperback books, DVDs, music CDs, CD books, video games, albums, comics, board games, and puzzles.
- Older books, even though they may show their age.
- Pre-1940 Britannic Encyclopedia sets, any sets published in the last 5 years, and will consider any unique book sets such as Antique Collecting, Book Collecting…
- Other than above, we cannot accept encyclopedia sets.
- We will consider unique magazine sets such as auto/truck, book collecting, or trades.
What we cannot use:
- Please, no musty, moldy, smelly, or damp items.
- Any items that have been stored in a musty or wet area.
- Please, no VHS tapes, cassettes, or misc. magazines older than 6 months.
- Please, no National Geographic sets.
