Tracy has worked at Brentwood Library for over 3 years. At any given moment you might find her singing or reading her heart out during story times for young children, wrangling creative kids during Lego Club, or entertaining elementary aged kids and teens by running some of their programs. Tracy also enjoys contemplating the expansion and contraction of both our adult non-fiction section and the Universe. Tracy's phenomenal Golden Retriever/Lab mix, Rocky, and loving husband, Darren, both benefit from her coordinating the Cook's Book Club--they get to sample her (mostly) successful attempts to cook a decent dish each month! A Brentwood Resident for over 13 years, Tracy is incredibly grateful to work at her home library where she truly enjoys all facets of her job, especially interacting with and serving community members.
Connie Jellison is a Brentwood resident. Connie loves reading romance novels which is a huge help as she manages the Fiction collection which includes romance and leads the Romance Book Club. Another activity Connie enjoys is discussing books. She currently leads our Classic Book Club where a group reads and discusses a piece of classic literature. She also plays the flute and enjoys singing, which means our Musical Monday program of singing, dancing and playing instruments is great fun. Children's books are some of Connie's favorite books, so she loves being a part of the Book Babies Storytime and the Family Storytime. In addition, she leads Wise Walk Indoors and Sit n Fit. She also helps with teen programming. In addition, she leads Game Day once a month and Bingo programs. Connie is new to Brentwood, she grew up in Blairsville, PA-home of Dean's Diner, and she has one daughter and son-in-law and a new grandson. Her favorite book is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Her favorite authors are Eloisa James, Julia Quinn, Todd Parr, Karma Wilson and Mo Willems. She feels privileged to be working as a Customer Services Librarian at Brentwood Library.
Kristin has worked at the Brentwood Library for two years. Although Kristin initially anticipated working at a library as a peaceful, quiet job where she might even be able to sneak off and catch up on her reading, she has been pleasantly surprised at the positive energy and community that surround her here at the Brentwood Library. It's quite possible that during a typical work day you might find Kristin strolling along Brownsville Road with her fellow Wise Walkers, playing ping-pong with local elementary students or conversing with patrons about their favorite book over a cup of coffee. Kristin's background is in Elementary Education and she brings her skills and expertise as a classroom teacher of nine years with her. Her background makes her a perfect fit for further developing both the Juvenile Fiction and Nonfiction collection. She enjoys sharing her love of reading with children during Preschool Parables, Book Babies and Elementary Book Club. This summer she is looking forward to beginning a Magic Tree House Book Club for children in the primary grades. Kristin and her family have been Brentwood residents since they moved to Pittsburgh from Colorado in 2009. Kristin and her loving husband have two amazing children, whose zest for life leads them on many new adventures.
